This is a standalone Health and Safety Manager role, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team with full autonomy to deliver the overall health and safety strategy for the business. The role is pragmatic and hands-on, combining strategy development with practical execution.
Location: hybrid role with 2 days per week in office based in Croydon, 1-2 days per week visiting sites, and the remaining time remote.

Responsibilities
- Standalone Health and Safety Manager, working closely with the SLT and functional heads across a multi-faceted business, with full autonomy to deliver the overall health and safety strategy for the business.
- Lead the health and safety journey to continuously improve from good to great.
- Shape strategy and culture while also actively contributing as part of the doing.
- Produce written and verbal reports to the Board of Directors to communicate progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage Health and Safety Policies, Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct site visits to ensure risk assessments and safe working procedures are in place at warehouse and office locations; ensure inspections are carried out and acted upon.
- Provide health and safety advice, support, and guidance across multi-site locations to all levels of colleagues.
- Identify and support health and safety training needs across the business.
Qualifications
- Experienced Health and Safety professional with a background in a highly regulated, fast-moving, multi-site operation. Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehousing, Distribution or Retail exposure is preferred.
- Pragmatic, doer mindset; able to work autonomously in a standalone role within a large company and wear multiple hats.
- Strong relationship-builder with excellent communication skills across all levels of stakeholders.
- Curious mindset, willing to challenge others and be challenged, with a drive to improve processes and systems.
- Ability to adapt to change and continuously seek improvement opportunities.
- NEBOSH qualification and evidence of continued professional development.
