Up to £65,000 + bonus depending on experience

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across our warehouse and retail operations. This role is critical in driving compliance, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture across multi-site environments.
Please note the role involves supporting and visiting our pharmacy sites which are often in remote locations or where public transport is limited therefore access to a car and a clean valid driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Board with clear, actionable insights to drive safety improvements.
- Lead the warehouse safety champion programme and chair monthly meetings.
- Deliver compliance reports to warehouse and pharmacy leadership.
- Shape and support the company’s Health and Safety strategy.
- Provide expert H&S guidance across all levels and locations.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Lead investigations into serious incidents and accidents.
- Conduct site visits and ensure risk assessments and safe working practices are in place.
- Deliver Fire Marshall and Manual Handling training; support online training content.
- Liaise with Enforcing Authorities and escalate issues appropriately.
- Represent the company in legal matters, including court appearances.
- Manage insurance claims and liaise with insurers.
- Ensure property compliance and support facilities management on H&S matters.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Proven H&S experience in warehousing, logistics, or retail.
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and HSE guidelines.
- Skilled in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communicator with leadership experience.
- Familiar with safety management systems and data analysis tools.
- Able to work with senior leadership in a family business environment.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH National Diploma (preferred); NEBOSH Certificate (essential).
- IOSH Chartered Membership (CMIOSH) or working towards.
- Experience managing multi-site safety operations.
- Strong planning, decision-making, and communication skills.
