Main accountabilities
- Support the Senior HR Business Partner with recruitment administration, onboarding and leaver process following JMB’s policies and HR best practice.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, and HR documentation in line with data protection legislation (GDPR).
- Input and update staff data to support monthly payroll and ensure timely communication with the finance team.
- Monitor sickness, leave, and absence data, helping to ensure processes are followed and reports are up to date.
- Assist in the coordination of learning and development activities, including scheduling courses and tracking attendance.
- Respond to general HR queries from staff, referring complex matters to the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Manage the HR inbox and Recruitment inbox and respond to queries in a timely manner, escalating when necessary.
- Support the production of routine HR reports as required, including turnover, absence, and training statistics.
- Help ensure HR policies, procedures, and templates are accessible, well-maintained, and reflect current best practice.
- Contribute to staff engagement and wellbeing initiatives, working with colleagues to build a positive organisational culture.
The postholder will work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner to support the delivery of day-to-day HR operations. As part of the Corporate Services team, the HR Assistant plays a key role in ensuring that recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, and general HR administration are carried out efficiently and in line with best practice and JMB’s values. This is a hands-on role within a small, collaborative team, offering exposure to a wide range of HR activities in a resident-led housing organisation.
