About your new role
As our full-time HR Advisor, you will be first point of contact for managers and colleagues, offering practical, solution-focused guidance on HR policies and employment legislation. You will support the HR Manager in delivering a strategic HR service. You’ll help ensure compliance with employment legislation, manage employee relations cases, and contribute to making Goddard Veterinary Group an employer of choice.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line HR advice on policies, procedures, and employment law
- Support employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management
- Ensure flexible working and probation processes are completed with managers to timescales set by employment law
- Deliver engaging bi-weekly induction sessions for new starters at our office in Woodford Green
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure GDPR compliance
- Produce reports and liaise with payroll to ensure smooth HR operations
- Help identify and manage high-risk employee situations along with HR Manager and employment law solicitors
- Complete new starter and leaver processes with support of HR Administrator
- Provide employee relations support including note taking at HR meetings, producing invite and outcome letters from company templates and supporting managers with decisions making ensuring compliance with employment law and ensuring consistency across the practice
Goddard Veterinary Group has 46 branches, and 3 internal referral and OOH hospitals across London, Greater London and Essex. This hybrid role will enable you to work on site with the managers and teams across London and providing remote support via Teams where appropriate.
Having the opportunity to be on site will give you ample understanding of the ways of working within the veterinary industry, and the nuances it brings…no day is the same in veterinary!
What you’ll bring
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- A solid understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Experience with HRIS systems and multi-site management (preferred)
- A relevant HR qualification (CIPD or equivalent)
- A full driving licence
- Mediation skills or willingness to train
Now let’s get to the nitty gritty
The salary band for this fulltime role is £37,000 to £45,000 depending on prior experience and allowing room for growth within the role, as further progression is always encouraged.
