Job Description
Are you ready to take your career to new heights? As a Heathrow Infrasture Project Manager, you'll experience the thrill of a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same. Join our team and you'll have the chance to play a big part in our future in one of the most unique project management environments in the UK.
When it comes to the size, scale, and variety of our infrastructure - or the ambition of our plans to transform it - we offer careers that are simply one-of-a-kind. Our four terminals and 200 additional buildings are linked by 125 km of roads, 44 tunnels and 4 million square meters of pavement. We have the largest private water network in Europe, punctuated with 28 cooling towers. We operate 3,400 flight information screens and run 30km of baggage belts in Terminal 5 alone.
A city within a city, we have a 365-24/7 operational environment - so safety, sustainability, carbon reduction and modern methods of construction are fundamental to the way we get things done. You'll be working across several design, delivery and technology partners, as well as all our airport, airline, regulatory and community stakeholders. Our capital investment plans include six major £multi-million programmes spanning 5 to 10 years (and far beyond) with major transformative improvements to our current infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Planning, leading and managing a project team to deliver integrated, sustainable, and effective solutions that meet the project brief.
- Establishing strong working relationships with partners and key stakeholders at all levels, ensuring that all requirements are captured with approvals in place.
- End-to-end execution planning and management as you establish clear goals with well-defined roles and deliverables.
- Ensuring a seamless, defined integration of design, development, commissioning delivery, managing change and process requirements.
- Reporting of project performance using project control tools, including earned value and quantitative risk analysis.
- Ensuring thorough management of both the deliverables and a focus on health and safety standards, with oversight of contractors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in planning, leading, and managing project teams
- Extensive knowledge of planning and implementation of complex projects, within a live operational environment, with multiple stakeholder interfaces.
- Be an effective communicator, with confidence in presenting complex problems and recommendations to a diverse audience.
- Reviewing, challenging and developing project plans, estimates and risk registers.
- Strong commercial experience and understanding of how we can effectively deliver projects to budget, on time and to the required quality.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience in delivery of Infrastructure projects, particularly within an aviation industry.
- Familiarity with tender documents and negotiations in a large-scale commercial environment.
- Experience with administration of the NEC form of contract and development of Scope documentation.
- Achieved a Project Management qualification and be working towards or have achieved chartership with a Professional body.
