Overview

As an M&A Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and other strategic transactions. From technical accounting and due diligence to integration and compliance with international standards, you’ll be involved end-to-end in ensuring deals run smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end M&A transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and carve-outs.
  • Execute technical accounting for deals under IFRS (e.g., PPA, goodwill, intangibles).
  • Prepare completion accounts, SPA adjustments, settlement calculations, and related analyses.
  • Perform monthly TSA accounting (carve-out financials, journal postings, reconciliations).
  • Act as the finance point of contact with buyers during TSA queries and post-transaction activities.
  • Complete inventory reconciliations and post-TSA close-out activities.
  • Collaborate with auditors, tax teams, legal advisors, and external stakeholders for compliance.
  • Contribute to wider finance transformation and M&A projects across the Group.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong IFRS knowledge with proven delivery across business combinations, disposals, or carve-outs.
  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal accounting.
  • Analytical skills to translate complex agreements into clear accounting treatments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – confident working with buyers, advisors, and senior leadership.
  • Proactive mindset with adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • FMCG or consumer goods sector experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP (Oracle/ D365) or SAP systems.
  • Knowledge of valuation methods and financial modelling techniques.
