Overview

The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective running of flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and our wider business. You will join a MEICA team helping to prioritise, plan and deliver the maintenance or replacement of crucial assets enabling flood protection to homes, businesses and the environment. You will work closely with external contractors to develop a world class asset management organisation and support our response to flood incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong technical leadership to assure MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational requirements across a diverse range of assets.
  • Monitor quality and advise on requirements to meet specialist MEICA standards.
  • Act as technical leader on MEICA activity within the South East team, providing mechanical support and direction to team members and liaising with a wide range of business partners.
  • Lead on actions on behalf of the MEICA Team Leader and Operations Managers and participate in responses to flood incidents.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering-related statutory legislation, British and European standards.
  • Experience leading safety investigations and disseminating learning to improve engineering and behavioural safety.
  • Knowledge and experience of Root Cause Analysis, reliability engineering, process improvement, technical leadership, and writing/reviewing technical specifications.
  • Educated to at least HNC/D or degree level in a mechanical discipline.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

  • You can be based at any of the listed locations with occasional hybrid homeworking and site visits; therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
