Job Description

  • Manage Payroll Function for UK and Ireland
  • Onsite 4 days a week
  • Design and maintain processes to ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll tax operations
  • Provide expert guidance on tax-related matters
  • Ensure payroll processes and controls align with SAO requirements and SOX compliance standards.
  • Primary point of contact with HMRC
  • Lead payroll optimisation initiatives
  • Manage, develop, and support the payroll team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring high performance and accuracy.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Manager should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a payroll team within a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to work on-site across multiple locations
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and HR legislation, with the ability to ensure compliance and apply best practice across all processes.
  • Proficiency with a range of payroll software platforms, with experience in Dayforce considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven capability to make effective, timely decisions in complex payroll scenarios, supported by strong problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse data, troubleshoot issues, and deliver accurate solutions.
  • A proactive mindset with a track record of driving process improvements and efficiencies.
