Saga Travel is recruiting for a People Business Partner to support our managers and colleagues, providing advice, guidance and support on all people matters.

Hybrid working model: minimum 2 days per week in Folkestone; occasional travel to Crawley and Southampton offices.

Location: Folkestone, Kent area (hybrid).

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience. Permanent contract.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver the operational talent agenda, enabling better capability and performance at every level, and collaborate with the Group People function to leverage central expertise (Reward, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Communications).
  • Embed Saga's purpose and values within leadership and colleague behaviours; challenge leaders when necessary.
  • Promote an inclusive culture where all colleagues can bring their full selves to work, are welcomed, and feel able to speak up.
  • Manage the colleague lifecycle so every touchpoint is a positive experience for colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively across Saga to ensure alignment with the Group’s strategic initiatives and coordinate group function people initiatives back into the Travel business.
  • Work closely with the Learning & Development Manager to design and develop impactful development schemes.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Crewing to drive consistency across the people and crewing agendas.
  • Manage 3rd party relationships unique to the Travel Business (e.g., WiHTL, offshore call centres and other industry partners).
  • Help create a learning culture and identify opportunities for leaders to coach, mentor, and inspire colleagues.
  • Participate in external networking to stay connected with business trends and changes.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have good knowledge of employment law and case management procedures, with a strong understanding of the colleague lifestyle. You should demonstrate a passion for people and curiosity to explore new trends and opportunities. Other required skills include:

  • Confident in conducting difficult and sensitive conversations with managers and colleagues
  • Ability to challenge and influence at senior level
  • Ability to manage an assigned caseload and prioritise tasks
  • Respects the importance of colleague experience
  • Effective relationship management
  • Ability to deliver upskilling training and coaching to line managers
  • Demonstrate Business Acumen
  • Project & Change Management
  • Knowledge of HR Systems and data skills

Salary and Benefits
