Job Title: Project Manager (Engineering)

Location: Manchester, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000 per annum (DOE)

Overview

A leading provider of mission-critical infrastructure and automation solutions is looking for a skilled Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of technical projects across sectors such as utilities, energy, telecoms, and public services.

This role is a key position within a growing team, offering you the chance to shape and lead engineering projects from inception through to completion, while working with cutting-edge technologies like SCADA, PLCs, and telecoms systems.

Responsibilities

Customer Management

• Serve as the main point of contact throughout project lifecycles
• Ensure project scope and deliverables are clearly agreed and managed
• Maintain strong client relationships and communication

Project Delivery

• Plan and deliver projects to defined schedules and budgets
• Own the resolution of project issues and report on progress
• Oversee successful handover to support teams

Resource & Vendor Coordination

• Assign and manage technical resources and external vendors
• Procure necessary hardware/services
• Align internal teams with project goals

Risk & Change Management

• Identify and mitigate project risks
• Manage scope changes, negotiate variations and timelines
• Ensure all changes are contractually documented

Cost & Quality Control

• Track and manage budgets and margin forecasts
• Authorize project-related costs
• Maintain delivery standards and quality assurance processes

Ideal Experience

• 3+ years of project management in IT, Telecoms, or Engineering
• Understanding of SCADA, PLC, HMI
• Qualified in Prince2, APMP, or equivalent
• NEC3 and CDM experience a plus
• Track record of managing external clients and multiple projects
