Overview
Balfour Beatty is excited to invite applications for the role of Project Manager within our Ground Engineering team, focusing on the deep soil mixing and ground improvements at Sizewell C. This position is based in London, with travel across the UK, offering a unique chance to be part of a high-profile project.
What you'll be doing
As a Project Manager, you will monitor site performance and costs, ensure the accurate execution of pile designs, and prepare quality assurance packs for our client.
Responsibilities
- Manage the project team and supply chain to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality targets and standards
- Ensure safety targets and standards are maintained
- Manage the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making, managing expectations
- Manage external consultants (e.g. design) to enable delivery – driving value, customer focus and achievement of the project’s objectives
- Ensure rigorous monthly project improvement processes are in place
- Thorough implementation of planning, risk, project controls and change controls
- Implementation of Lean principles throughout the project to drive productivity, performance and safety
- Implementation of best practice commercial management
What we are looking for
- Extensive Project Management experience within civils or marine civils
- Experience of leading teams, and confidence in the ability to lead, influence and communicate with others to deliver targets are required
- Financial awareness, with a desire to continuously improve safety and sustainability performance
- An appropriate and valid CSCS card is required
Nice to have
- Experience working for a piling, ground engineering, or civils subcontractor
- Specific experience in Ground Improvements using deep soil mixing techniques
