Specialist Legal & Governance Recruiter – Locum Property Lawyer

Our client, a Local Authority based in the North-West, is currently recruiting for a locum Property Lawyer on an initial 3-month contract.

The position is due to start within the next couple of weeks, and they are flexible on hourly rate, dependent on candidates expectations and experience.

The role can be conducted remotely, but any candidates able to attend office will be treated preferably, and previous Local Government experience will be essential for the role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a varied caseload of commercial and residential property matters on behalf of the organisation, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Advising on and preparing documentation for landlord and tenant matters, including leases, licences, renewals, and property management issues
  • Supporting commercial acquisitions, disposals, and developments, including due diligence, title investigation, and negotiation of contracts
  • Handling residential property transactions, primarily focused on purchases and related governance requirements
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating property contracts and agreements to safeguard the organisation’s interests
  • Providing clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal clients and stakeholders, supporting effective decision-making and project delivery

Experience required:

  • Commercial and Residential Property Law
  • Relevant Professional Qualification – Solicitor, Barrister, FCILEX

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
