Job Description
We are considering entry-level and experienced candidates for this role. You will be joining the Credit Specialties department as an Underwriter within Risk Services. Credit Specialties is a division within Atradius that offers non-cancellable and comprehensive credit insurance to corporates and banks across a multitude of sectors and regions across the world. You will be evaluating different transactions on a case‑by‑case basis to determine whether they pose an acceptable risk profile and align with departmental risk appetite. For a full list of our product offerings, please visit Credit Specialties.
In addition to our case‑by‑case workflow, you will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of risks for some of our key customers. This will involve developing a relationship with our commercial unit and clients/brokers whilst managing expectations on both sides.
Given the nature of our business, we are looking for someone who has an interest in geopolitical developments and preferably has a reasonable grasp of macroeconomics. You will have the opportunity to attend industry talks and broker conferences, as well as receive financial analysis training, ensuring there is development within the role. Whilst it is not essential you come from a financial background, a basic understanding of financial statement analysis would be considered favourably.
Candidates should be aware that the position would involve travel, including potentially overseas, and therefore a flexible approach to working hours is essential.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following profile:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree with a significant analytical component. There is a preference for Finance, Economics, or Accounting although other disciplines will be considered.
- Strong written and communication skills with the ability to articulately convey an argument.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential information.
- An ability to interpret financial statements will be considered favourably, although this is not a requirement.
Benefits
- Hybrid working
- Competitive salary and annual bonus scheme
- Market leading pension scheme of up to 18% contribution (15% employer contribution with a 3% employee contribution)
- Life assurance cover at 10 x annual salary
- Income protection insurance to cover any long‑term absence due to illness
- 27.5 days annual leave starting (plus bank holidays)
- Flexible working hours
- Training and support to reach your full potential including the opportunity for funded further study
- Employee assistance programme
- Sports and social club
- In addition to the above, we operate a salary sacrifice scheme whereby you can take advantage of discounted rates in terms of private dental cover, private health insurance retail vouchers, cycle to work scheme etc.
