Overview

Senior Business Development Director – Senior leadership role responsible for the development and expansion of new business opportunities within established accounts and prospective clients. Provides leadership for overall business planning and identifies and develops sales leads. Manages the sales process through contract closure in coordination with Proposals and Contracts, and prepares and conducts project-specific client presentations in collaboration with Veristat’s functional departments related to core services and capabilities.

The Senior Business Development Director coordinates between the client and the Company on all sales activities to expand visibility, name recognition, and professional credibility in the market. The role also assists with development of promotional material to promote the Company’s recognition in the industry. Internally, the role works closely with Project Management and Finance to establish strategic partnerships with new and existing clients and with all functional groups within Veristat to enhance performance and client relations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand new business opportunities within established accounts and prospective clients.
  • Provide leadership for overall business planning and identify and develop sales leads.
  • Liaise with Proposals and Contracts to manage the sales process through contract closure.
  • Prepare and conduct project-specific client presentations in collaboration with functional departments related to Veristat’s core services and capabilities.
  • Coordinate between the client and the Company on sales activities to expand visibility and professional credibility.
  • Assist with the development of promotional material to promote Veristat’s recognition in the industry.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Finance, and other functional groups to establish strategic partnerships and enhance performance and client relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business, science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience selling services in a CRO/pharmaceutical/biotechnology/life sciences industry, with expert knowledge of the clinical research process and requirements.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to prepare and deliver high-quality capabilities and sales presentations.
  • Experience with proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing a contract.
  • Ability to learn quickly, assimilate project requirements, and be flexible with multitasking.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
  • Driving/travel requirements – Travel up to 50%.
