About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant—ideally with a practice background—who is looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping the financial integrity of a growing business.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for statutory reporting, financial control, and supporting wider business initiatives, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP / IFRS.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
  • Manage the audit process, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT, corporation tax, and other filings.
  • Support the Finance Director with budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support strategic projects across the business.

About You

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ IC AEW), preferably trained in practice (Big 4 / Top 20 desirable).
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS.
  • Previous experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills; exposure to ERP/accounting systems advantageous.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary up to £70,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working model (2–3 days in London office).
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme and additional company benefits.
  • Excellent career progression opportunities within a supportive and collaborative finance team.
