Job Summary
We are looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant, to work 37.5-hours per week (Mon – Fri). This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days spent at our London office, with the ability to work from home on the other days.
Travel, primarily within London and surrounding areas
Job Description
Responsibilities for the successful candidate encompass managing month-end processes, overseeing a portfolio of complex contracts, conducting P&L and balance sheet reviews, and providing support to a team. In addition to involvement in forecasting, budgeting, and handling audit queries, a key aspect is the transformation of existing processes—simplifying and standardising. The role requires proactive engagement in challenging the business when necessary.
Ideal candidates for this role should possess a senior financial accounting background, bringing a minimum of 2-5 years of experience post-qualification to the position. This opportunity is suited for individuals who have demonstrated expertise in managing teams, project accounting, and the ability to streamline and standardise processes effectively.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Skilfully orchestrating month-end procedures for seamless financial closure.
- Nurturing a portfolio of intricate contracts with meticulous care.
- Conducting insightful P&L and balance sheet reviews for strategic decision-making.
- Providing leadership to a dynamic team and offering unwavering support.
- Playing a key role in forecasting and budgeting activities for forward-looking financial strategies.
- Spearheading corporate consolidation efforts within the central team.
- Addressing audit queries with precision and expertise.
- Collaborating on the management and coordination of audits, focusing on the central team's responsibilities.
- Applying a deep understanding of project accounting nuances to enhance financial accuracy.
- Demonstrating a proven track record in team management and leadership.
- Evaluating existing processes with a keen eye for transformation, simplification, and standardisation. Leveraging extensive experience in process optimisation.
- Fearlessly challenging the business landscape when necessary for continuous improvement and innovation.
About You
- Practice background in Audit 2-5 years (with a minimum of 1 year out of Audit in Industry)
- Fully ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
- At least 2 years post qualification experience
- Experience of assisting in the management and coordination of audits
- Experience in reviewing contracts, completing revenue recognition, accruals and provisions related to contracts
- Comfortable in preparing reports and forecasting
- Experience of reviewing balance sheet reconciliations & balance sheet assurance – ensuring reconciliation has appropriate evidence attached and no risk on balance sheet
- Experience of dealing with audit queries.
- Good understanding of project accounting
- Proven experience of managing a team
