As a Senior Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and timely completion of large-scale construction and civil infrastructure projects. Your expertise in Primavera P6 and understanding of the NEC3/4 will be essential in developing and maintaining project schedules, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your ability to travel to client sites across the UK will help maintain strong relationships and ensure project alignment.

Note: This role requires hybrid working with regular site visits across the UK.

What you’ll do

  • Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and timelines.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on schedule.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and potential risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with the NEC and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to project schedules and resource allocation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and compliance records.

What we’re looking for

  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing large-scale construction and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Primavera P6 Proficiency: Advanced knowledge and experience with Primavera P6 for scheduling and management.
  • NEC Awareness: Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and its application in construction projects.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to address project issues.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail in schedules and reports.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel to client sites across the UK as needed.
  • Qualifications: Degree-qualified with certifications such as PMP or equivalent.

Location and travel

This role could be based in any Jacobs office and will require regular site visits across the UK; travel flexibility is key. The company operates a hybrid work environment and a 40-hour week as standard.
