CENTRAL MARKETING – BASED AT SEGA West London, Chiswick Business Park. Hybrid working (3 days in-office).

REPORTING TO: HEAD OF PRODUCT PR

POSITION OVERVIEW: Working within the SEGA West Publishing, EMEA Central Marketing team, you will take a leading role in the development and execution of global and EMEA-focused PR campaigns for SEGA’s portfolio of games, including titles such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Football Manager, Persona, Total War and Like A Dragon. You will collaborate with the SOE comms team, SEGA Europe studios, SEGA of America, studio brand teams, product managers, community teams and PR teams to ensure aligned and effective campaigns.

Your core responsibilities include managing, developing and executing global PR strategy for AAA releases from SEGA Europe-led West Studios, and developing and executing EMEA PR campaigns for SEGA of America-led brands. You will support more junior team members, conduct direct media relations, pitching, event support and reporting. International travel to industry and consumer events may be required.

Key stakeholders include SEGA Europe Central Marketing, SEGA of America Brand teams, Product Managers and Community teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement PR strategy for Europe-led West Studios projects; act as PR point person for all executing markets.
  • Develop and execute EMEA PR strategies for SEGA of America products; act as EMEA point person for all executing markets.
  • Serve as the UK media contact for assigned titles and cultivate strong media relationships.
  • Support expansion of key franchises into emerging and established EMEA markets.
  • Work within a cost-effective budget structure.
  • Collaborate closely with SEGA Europe Central Marketing, SEGA of America Brand teams, Product Managers, Community teams and PR teams to maintain a synchronized approach.
  • Establish strong working relationships with West Studios teams and SEGA of America brand teams to ensure timely asset delivery and code distribution.
  • Present media and influencer pitches; help develop junior team members’ pitching and writing skills.
  • Ensure regular, clear communication to internal teams with updates.
  • Plan and organise press events to maximise coverage for key campaign beats.
  • Collate and distribute internal reports on coverage and press feedback.
  • Collaborate with external PR agencies as required by territory.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • A passion for and understanding of gaming.
  • Extensive experience in a games PR environment (agency or in-house) or equivalent experience in gaming media.
  • Strong relationships with UK press and deep knowledge of the media landscape.
  • Ability to work in a small, busy team; demonstrable leadership and prior experience running AAA PR campaigns in gaming.
  • Creative thinker with strong pitching and writing skills.
  • Excellent project management and PR planning skills.
  • Knowledge of competitor products within the industry.
  • Impeccable communication and problem-solving skills; strong reporting abilities.
