Team: Product, Research & Design

Role

Senior Product Designer at Prolific. You will be part of Prolific's Product, Research, and Design Group, shaping products, services, and customer experiences for data collectors, financial controllers, and integrating developers.

Impact: Design products, services, and customer experiences across our ecosystem; influence how leading technology companies build and interact with humans in AI development. You will work in a flat, cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and data scientists, with accountability for customer experience in your domain.

Domain: We operate in the infrastructural layer of AI models, providing fairly compensated human data to build, fine-tune, and align/evaluate AI systems. Success requires understanding and improving complex orchestration journeys for data collection from machines and humans, including payments and APIs, often with low signals and low data in emerging AI use cases.

Responsibilities

• Design product value streams embedded with engineers, product managers, and data scientists; create functional and delightful customer journeys that deliver value.
• Work experimentally and iteratively with colleagues across disciplines; conduct user research independently with the help of consulting user researchers.
• Be accountable for customer experience and satisfaction within your domain.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing meaningful products: Identify and solve problems through discovery, definition, and design.
• Think strategically: Connect the dots beyond immediate tasks and ensure design decisions align with the bigger picture.
• Shaping outcomes that matter: Define, monitor, and improve product experience for Prolific users.
• Elevating design at scale: Contribute to the design system and evolve processes for faster, more consistent experiences.
• Driving a culture of experimentation: Propose and test multiple solutions; advocate data-informed design and rapid prototyping to deliver value.

How you’ll do it

• Understand people deeply: Build understanding of data collectors, account administrators, integrating developers, and participants through workshops and feedback loops.
• Design journeys with impact: Create flows and mental models that help users achieve goals.
• Bring ideas to life: Produce service maps, wireframes, and prototypes that inspire clarity.
• Validate and refine: Test prototypes for usability, value, and feasibility.
• Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with product and engineering to co-create solutions and rollout strategies.

What you’ll bring

You are comfortable with asynchronous and synchronous work in a fast-paced environment. You are a deep systems thinker, curious about behavior, and passionate about how great design improves productivity and enjoyment. You understand product design principles and have practical experience applying them.

• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma
• Experience with information architecture and mapping complex systems and business processes
• Strong understanding of interface design and visual/interaction design in dynamic contexts
• Comfort with product analytics and A/B or multivariate testing
• Experience working in fast-paced environments

• Knowledge of B2B and enterprise customer needs
• Knowledge of the AI development landscape and how humans are involved in training AI
• Knowledge of developer experience, APIs, and tools
