Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer who is well versed in both UI and UX digital product design. The successful candidate will be passionate about UX with depth of expertise in this area; the daily role will encompass both UI and UX. You will join a high-performing team at a scaling health technology company and have responsibility for driving our business growth from day one. The role is remote, full-time (40 hrs per week), reporting to the Lead Product Designer.

ProblemShared is a practitioner-led, CQC-regulated digital mind health provider working with a community of expert practitioners to broaden access to high-quality care for people across the UK. We collaborate with institutions such as the NHS, insurance companies and universities to deliver therapy, psychiatry, neurodevelopmental assessments and post-diagnosis care for adults, children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design projects across both clinician and client web applications, delivering seamless user experiences for a wide range of users.
  • Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) to gather insights; create user personas, journey maps, and wireframes based on these insights.
  • Develop high-quality UI designs including mock-ups, prototypes, and design systems with a focus on visual consistency, responsiveness, and accessibility.
  • Develop intuitive information architecture, hierarchies, interaction flows, and wireframes to ensure easy navigation and reduced friction.
  • Jointly maintain and evolve ProblemShared's design system to ensure consistency across all products and platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, engineers, stakeholders) to align on product outcomes and deliver successful results.
  • Stay up to date with design trends, tools, and technologies; bring innovative ideas to enhance user experience and product functionality.
  • Develop and maintain understanding of neurodiversity and its impact on tool design to deliver optimal outcomes for users.
  • Lead and participate in workshops, facilitating productive sessions and extracting creative ideas from participants.
  • Open to constructive feedback and able to iterate designs rapidly based on stakeholder input.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and delivering high-quality work on time.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in product design with strong UX foundation and polished UI skills.
  • Proficiency in Figma (design systems, prototyping, collaboration).
  • Experience in building, maintaining, and scaling a design system.
  • Experience in design operations (processes, development handoff standards, templates).
  • Comfortable working in lean environments where design capacity is tight.
  • Strong experience in user-centered research (usability testing, surveys, analytics).
  • Previous experience in a B2C environment with demonstrable ability to influence user interactions and engagement using behavioural psychology principles.
  • Demonstrated competence in quantitative and qualitative research methods with the ability to evaluate methodologies.
  • Passion for creating user experiences that meet diverse user needs; interest in behavioural psychology.
  • Skilled in human-centric design and using data and user feedback to inform decisions.
  • Ability to run productive workshops and draw out the best ideas from participants.
  • Open to feedback and able to iterate quickly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work on time.

Desirable To Have

  • Experience in regulated environments.
  • Experience with health-related product sets.
  • Senior-level product designer experience, ideally in a startup or scale-up.
