Wagestream is on a mission to bring better financial wellbeing to frontline workers.

We partner with some of the world’s most famous employers, like Bupa, Burger King, Greene King and the mighty NHS to give their teams access to fairer financial services - all built around flexible pay. Over three million people can now choose how often they’re paid, track their shifts and earnings, start saving, use budgeting tools, get free financial coaching, and access fairer financial products. All in one financial wellbeing super-app.

Wagestream is unique: VC-backed and growing at scale-up pace, but with a social conscience. Some of the world's leading financial charities and impact funds were our founding investors, and we operate on a social charter - which means every product we build has to improve financial health and reduce the $5.6bn ‘premium’ lower-income earners pay for financial services each year.

You’d be joining a team of over 200 passionate, ambitious people, across Europe and the USA, building a category-leading fintech product and all united by that same mission.

The Opportunity:

Wagestream is hiring a hands-on Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of our financial wellbeing super-app. This is a critical, creative role where you will own the end-to-end design process for key product areas, transforming complex financial concepts into simple, beautiful, and intuitive experiences that empower millions of users.

We believe that world-class Product Design consists of 4 key elements:

UX & Interaction Design - Includes creating user flows, wireframes, and information architecture that make complex journeys feel effortless and intuitive.

UI & Visual Craft - Includes creating pixel-perfect, beautiful interfaces, and contributing to and evolving our design system to ensure consistency and quality at scale.

Strategy & Collaboration - Includes partnering with Product Managers to define problems, working with engineers to ensure feasibility, and using prototyping and testing to validate ideas and deliver impactful solutions.

User Empathy & Research - Includes understanding user needs through research, synthesising qualitative and quantitative data, and being the voice of the frontline worker in every decision.

You don't have to be a world-class expert in all of these areas for us to want to talk to you. We want to help you grow and develop your skills in areas you are less familiar with over time.

The Team:

You will be a senior member of our Product Design team, reporting to a VP of Product. You'll be embedded within a cross-functional product squad, collaborating daily with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists and users to bring new features and improvements to life.

What will you be doing?

Own the design process from discovery and concept to final, high-fidelity execution for major features across our mobile app and website.

Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and pixel-perfect UI for new product initiatives.

Evolve and maintain our design system, ensuring our user experience is cohesive, accessible, and scalable.

Mentor other designers on the team, providing constructive feedback and elevating the overall quality of our design output.

Champion a user-centred design culture across the entire organisation.
