Walker and Sloan are partnering with a fully serviced digital marketing agency in London, as they are keen to bring on board a Senior Social Media Manager to the team on a full time basis to support the Head of Social.

Location: London Hybrid 3 days in HQ.

Role Introduction

As Senior Social Media Manager within the Social Media team, you’ll play a vital role in pushing our service line forward - both by ensuring all existing client strategies are delivered to the highest standard and by helping structure and deliver pitches to win new business. You’ll work directly alongside and support the Head of Social Media by monitoring day-to-day execution of client strategies to ensure each project has a robust and considered social strategy underpinned by clear aims, KPIs and a tactical delivery plan to hit objectives. You’ll be the project manager and key owner for multiple client projects across a range of industries and social channels, and you will self-sufficiently manage your time as priorities and deliverables change. You’ll also monitor profitability of client projects and think commercially about how to deliver on budget and on time. You’ll contribute to identifying new business opportunities for the department, lead chemistry meetings, compile pitch decks and win new work. You will be a go-to individual in the social media industry with a known personal brand due to your online content sharing and public speaking at relevant conferences and events. You’ll mentor and develop our Social Media Executives and Specialists, overseeing their output and maintaining a high-quality irst Time Rightpproach. You will research industry trends and distill key information to the Social Media team to foster continual learning and up-to-date knowledge of social disciplines and trends.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Hands-on delivery: design and implement world-class strategies for client accounts, work with the Social Media Specialist and Social Media Executive on day-to-day delivery, and perform campaign setup/creation, optimization of messaging/TOV/creative (test & learn), audits, and consulting.
  • New business and pitching: participate in tenders and pitches for new business, identify growth opportunities with existing clients, lead chemistry meetings, compile pitch decks, and win new work. Represent the Social Media service line through events, conferences, podcasts, interviews and online content sharing as part of your personal brand.
  • Performance-driven: appraise the performance of social across clients and proactively propose strategy pivots to achieve best results.
  • Reporting: contribute to project reports and strategy renewals to demonstrate campaign successes and learnings, and use reporting to meet and exceed client targets.
  • Commercially-minded: understand profitability on client projects and help deliver on budget and on time.
  • Quality assurance: ensure all work presented to clients and internal stakeholders meets high quality standards.
  • Training and mentoring: support and guide Social Media Executives and Specialists to deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Collaboration: ensure social media activity aligns with and complements marketing across other service lines (Content & PR, Email Marketing, Paid Media).
  • Well-rounded approach: balance creativity and data to generate innovative ideas using insights and audience psychology.
  • Up-to-date knowledge: stay current with trends, news and tactics; share best practices and campaign examples with clients and the team.
  • Independent and proactive project management: manage multiple client accounts, prioritise workloads, and support the Head of Social Media on fast-moving tasks.
  • Communication and relationship management: lead internal and external client meetings to build rapport and clarity.
