Sustainability Lead

Overview
The Sustainability Lead will play a pivotal role in driving Bell's sustainability initiatives, focusing on climate change, economic, and social impacts. This position will ensure successful delivery against the NetZero Transition Plan, while actively participating in the Sustainability committee; covers ESG and CSR initiatives. The Sustainability Lead will lead the development and implementation of an environmental sustainability strategy that enhances Bell's reputation as a leading IT provider both in the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Sustainability Leadership: Provide leadership on sustainability issues, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies regarding climate change and social responsibility.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement an environmental sustainability strategy, incorporating best practices and innovative solutions; review and enhance the existing sustainability strategy to reflect current trends and future opportunities for improvement.
- Project Support: Collaborate with divisional functions to identify, analyse, and justify sustainability projects, ensuring effective impact assessments and business case development; create a comprehensive plan for the delivery of sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Reporting and KPIs: Develop and maintain reporting frameworks on sustainability indicators and KPIs, tracking performance and progress against targets; prepare sustainability disclosures for annual accounts, including SECR and ESOS submissions; prepare the annual TCFD report.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to raise awareness and engagement in sustainability; engage with suppliers to promote sustainable practices, ensuring ethical sourcing and responsible procurement methods.
- Waste Management: Streamline waste processes by improving, reducing, re-using, and recycling initiatives to enhance environmental impact.
- Continuous Improvement: Share ideas, knowledge, and best practices across the organisation to foster a culture of continuous improvement in sustainability efforts by driving change through legal requirements, ISO best practice, UN Sustainability goals, TCFD, SBTs, and other mechanisms; monitor trends and changes in sustainability practices to ensure Bell remains at the forefront of industry developments.
- Experience and Qualifications: Several years of experience in sustainability roles, experience with TCFD reporting, UN Sustainability model and reporting, SBTs, ISO 14001/ISO 50001; extensive knowledge of climate change and carbon footprint reduction; experience engaging with EcoVadis, CSR, and ESG initiatives.
