Avatar Recruitment has been retained on a confidential mandate to appoint a Technical Accountant for a rapidly growing, private equity‑backed ERP software company. With a strong global footprint and ambitious growth trajectory, this organisation is scaling rapidly and requires a technically strong accountant to support its evolving financial reporting needs.

This role offers the chance to combine technical accounting expertise with commercial influence, working closely with senior stakeholders across multiple geographies. Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with regional and global finance teams to deliver timely, accurate, and audit‑compliant reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Lead the review and validation of financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of financial statements, aligning with accounting standards and external audit requirements.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership during M&A activity, ensuring accurate consolidation and smooth integration into group reporting.
  • Advise on revenue recognition practices, particularly in transitioning to subscription‑based business models.
  • Safeguard balance sheet integrity through reconciliations, reviews, and robust support schedules.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal audit teams, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Champion internal controls and governance across multiple geographies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing reporting team, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.

Candidate Profile

Essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of audit experience, ideally with exposure to complex, international environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with strong PowerPoint and Word capability for reporting and presentations.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical accounting into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
