Role Summary And Impact
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Technical Analyst to join our team building a state-of-the-art media data lake on Azure. This role will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, working closely with stakeholders, data engineers, and data architects. The Technical Analyst will be responsible for gathering requirements, defining data specifications, performing data analysis, and ensuring the data solutions meet business needs within the medallion architecture framework.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with business users, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document data requirements for the media data lake.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, including data mapping, transformation rules, and data quality criteria.
- Work closely with Data Engineers and Data Architects to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and to support the design and development process.
- Perform data analysis, data profiling, and data validation to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency within the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of the medallion architecture.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to data sources, data models, data flows, and business logic.
- Assist in the creation of test plans and participate in testing activities to ensure solutions meet requirements.
- Support business users with data-related queries, ad-hoc reporting, and data discovery.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and data quality enhancements.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Skills And Experience
At WPP Media, we value our culture and people. Key requirements include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Experience with data modelling concepts and data warehousing principles.
- Familiarity with data lake concepts and architectures, preferably medallion architecture.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Experience working with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks).
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of the media or advertising industry.
