The Role of the Data Engineer is to support the development and maintenance of data infrastructure and pipelines, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of our data platforms.

Role overview
You will partner closely with engineering teams to bring ideas to life and ensure delivery runs smoothly. You will work with colleagues across Technology, Marketing, Finance and Operations to identify opportunities and embed solutions. You will also engage with Transformation and Enterprise Risk to keep priorities aligned, and with Legal, Compliance, Data Protection and Internal Audit to safeguard customers and colleagues. Along the way you will influence stakeholders at every level from frontline teams to senior leadership.
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Own and deliver product roadmaps for assigned data and AI capabilities, balancing user value with technical feasibility
- Lead user research and discovery to surface opportunities and validate solutions
- Write clear product requirements and user stories for engineering teams
- Define and track metrics that measure product success and business impact
- Coordinate product launches and drive adoption through effective communication
- Work closely with engineering throughout the development lifecycle to ensure delivery meets expectations
- Gather and act on user feedback to continuously improve products
- Support go-to market activity with clear product documentation and messaging
You will need
- Experience in technical product management, ideally with data or AI products
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions
- Technical background that lets you work effectively with engineers
- Experience with agile methodologies and product discovery practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of user experience principles and how they shape adoption
- Understanding of data platforms or ML concepts
- A track record of successfully delivering products that create impact
- Degree in a technical or business field or equivalent experience
- Product management certifications beneficial
- Agile or Scrum certifications a plus
