About Us

It is an exciting time to join Lambeth Council. We have bold ambitions for the future of Lambeth’s communities and residents through our Lambeth 2030 Plan “Our Future, Our Lambeth.” To deliver these ambitions, we have embarked on our transformational One Lambeth Programme, ensuring we are “connected by purpose” in everything we do to deliver excellence. We are proud to have recently developed a refreshed set of One Lambeth Values and Behaviours that were developed for staff by staff: Equity, Ambition, Kindness, and Accountability. For more information, please visit our dedicated One Lambeth Values and Behaviours page.

About the Borough

Located in the heart of South London, Lambeth Borough is a vibrant community of over 317,600 residents. Stretching from Streatham in the south to Waterloo in the north, we are the 9th largest borough in London. Our diversity is our strength, with more than 130 languages spoken, making Lambeth the home of the Windrush generation, London’s largest LGBTQ+ community, and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community. We offer exceptional schools, green spaces such as Brockwell Park, cultural gems like the Black Cultural Archives, and institutions such as St Thomas’s Hospital.

We provide an enriching and dynamic environment for our staff and residents.

About The Role

The Lambeth Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) is committed to working together to ensure that all children and young people in Lambeth are safe, secure and protected from harm. We are seeking a Business Support Officer to help us achieve this. The partnership is supported by a small team, so we’re looking for a candidate who is excited by a challenge and will proactively get involved in all aspects of the partnership’s work, providing comprehensive business support as required. Duties include mailbox management, finance processing, inputting, storing, and archiving data, meeting arrangements, note taking, and supporting the delivery of our training programme.

Your communication skills will be exemplary, and you’ll be able to digest complex information and communicate it in an accessible and effective way. You’ll be able to write minutes that clearly capture key discussions and actions. You’ll also be comfortable updating information for the LSCP website and Twitter feed. Equally important is your ability to form positive professional relationships across agencies to synchronize diaries and schedule important meetings and functions.

If you have any questions or queries around the role, please contact Kersha Clarke, the Partnership Manager, at kclarke@lambeth.gov.uk.
