We are looking for a driven individual who will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment supporting the company's core commercial agreements that will transform and grow our business. What You'll Do As a Commercial Lawyer at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality legal support to businesses and functions across the Sainsbury's Group to enable strategic commercial agreements and procurement activities. You will provide pragmatic and timely advice, improve contract negotiations with key suppliers, establish and deliver precedents, processes and standards, stay abreast of emerging legal issues in technology and AI, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive your own professional development. Essential Criteria
Qualified legal professional with demonstrable experience managing a range of commercial and technology contracts. Candidates with 3+ years PQE are likely to have the required skills. Proven ability to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice grounded in contracting principles. Practical knowledge of SaaS, platform, and cloud-based agreements, including outsourcing and procurement contracts, with familiarity in liability, AI clauses, service levels, intellectual property, and data protection. Evidenced capability in drafting legal documents using clear, concise, and accessible language. Demonstrable ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within a collaborative team environment.
