The role is a newly created hybrid position that combines reception and booking duties to support the Endoscopy Department. It involves welcoming patients, carers, relatives, visitors and fellow staff in a polite, courteous and professional manner, with a patient-focused approach from receipt of referral to appointment and any follow-up. The role requires use of Trust systems to ensure a smooth patient pathway and accurate data quality collection.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, carers, relatives, visitors and health care staff to the Endoscopy Department in a polite, courteous and professional manner; ensure patient-focused service and greet patients with a smile.
• Manage the patient journey from receipt of referral letter to appointment in clinic and any subsequent follow-up, ensuring it is patient-focused, efficient and effective.
• Operate the Trust’s systems (Choose and Book, iPortal, Careflow, Solus and any other systems) to support a smooth pathway for the patient and maintain accurate data quality.
• Undertake clerical duties requiring tact or persuasive communication; respond to enquiries about appointments and other queries from patients and staff.
• Communicate with patients and relatives who telephone to update personal details or change/cancel appointments.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Entry level role with responsibilities in reception and booking within the Endoscopy Department.
• Ability to work across multiple systems and provide high-quality patient-focused service.
