Endoscopy Waiting List Officer role at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. This is a newly created hybrid role that incorporates a mixture of reception and booking officer duties to support the Endoscopy Department.

Note: University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. If you hold a graduate visa, you may apply, but UHNM cannot offer sponsorship at the end of your visa and you must have at least six months remaining until expiry at the start of employment for training and operational reasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, carers, relatives, visitors and other health care staff to the Endoscopy Department in a polite, courteous and professional manner; ensure patient focus at all times and greet patients with a smile.
• Manage the patient journey from receipt of referral letter to appointment in clinic and any follow-up appointments; ensure pathways are patient-focused, efficient and effective.
• Utilise Trust systems (Choose and Book, iPortal, Careflow, Solus and other systems) to achieve a smooth patient pathway and ensure accurate and safe data quality collection.
• Undertake clerical duties, providing and receiving routine information requiring tact or persuasive skills; communicate with patients and staff about appointments or queries; update personal details and amend/cancel appointments as required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Formal clerical or administrative qualification
• Experience in a customer service environment

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• NVQ in Business Studies or equivalent
• Knowledge of Careflow, iPortal & Outlook
• Knowledge of Data Quality; ability to work in a high-pressured environment and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of waiting lists and managing them
