Family Law Solicitor

Location: Manchester, England, United Kingdom

Co‑op Legal Services is looking for a solicitor to join our Family department. The role involves managing new and existing family law caseloads end‑to‑end with a client‑focused approach.

Base pay: £34,000‑£59,000, dependant on experience, plus excellent benefits and a hybrid working model (one day a week in office). Hybrid working policy: https://jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy

What you’ll do

• Take ownership of a mixed caseload of family matters and negotiate to achieve best results for clients.
• Use our case‑management system to record information accurately.
• Meet individual and team chargeable time & profit cost targets.
• Draft and audit legal documents and correspondence.
• Assume line‑management responsibilities (senior or lead level) and mentor junior team members.
• Delegate work across the team, act as subject‑matter expert, and contribute to strategic positioning, marketing, and promotion of the department.

What we’re looking for

• Qualified as a solicitor, or qualified via CILEX, with experience in privately funded family law matters.
• Proven track record of meeting chargeable and billing targets.
• Good general IT skills, including use of a case‑management system.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Resilience and adaptability to change.
