Field Service Technician – UK & Overseas Travel

Our client, a global leader in engineering solutions for the oil & gas, industrial, and renewable energy sectors, is looking for a skilled, adaptable, and travel-ready Field Service Technician to join their expert Service Team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on variety, technical challenges, and working in different environments: from UK industrial sites to overseas installations.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the go-to person for installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, including pumps, rotating equipment, vacuum, and pressure systems.
Your work will take you to customer sites across the UK and abroad, often at short notice, where you’ll:
- Carry out on-site service, maintenance, and workshop support
- Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting
- Deliver aftersales support, from spare parts identification to technical advice
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations
- Keep detailed technical documentation and reports
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves:
- Completed mechanical engineering apprenticeship (C&G, ONC, HNC)
- CSCS card (or ability to obtain)
- Willingness to travel extensively (sometimes at short notice) for extended periods
- Solid experience in mechanical/electrical systems installation, commissioning, and maintenance
- Proficiency with engineering drawings, technical docs, and Microsoft Office tools
Nice-to-haves:
- HGV or Heavy Plant Engineering background
- Knowledge of wastewater or industrial systems
