Overview

The Environment Agency is focused on creating better places for people, wildlife and the environment, tackling climate-related challenges and improving air, land and water quality. This role offers an opportunity to drive Geospatial development across the organisation and enable colleagues to deliver environmental ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the GIS Manager and Senior Team Leader as one of two technical leads for the team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Environment Agency, DEFRA and external partners to evolve Geospatial Services.
  • Coordinate delivery with service leads and stakeholders to ensure a joined-up, modern suite of corporate geospatial services.
  • Deliver Enterprise Geospatial Services and help modernise our geospatial capabilities (Easimap, in-house GIS view and query tool, ArcGIS Pro, EAMaps, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online access).

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of delivering Enterprise Geospatial Services.
  • Evidence of ability to set a strategic direction and coordinate tactical delivery.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of customers and partners.
  • Experience of working with ESRI products.

  • Training and incident response duties are part of working for the Environment Agency. An incident role is an essential part of the role to support communities and prevent harm to the environment.
  • There are no base location requirements; the role can be fulfilled via remote working.
