We’re looking for an experienced GIS strategic thinker with a proven record of effective delivery. Our ideal candidate will combine a strong drive to modernise with a passion for improving the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the GIS Manager and Senior Team Leader; be one of two technical leads for the team.
  • Work with colleagues across the Environment Agency, DEFRA and external partners to evolve Geospatial Services.
  • Coordinate delivery with service leads to ensure a joined-up, well-managed, modern suite of corporate geospatial services.
  • Deliver and support tools and services including Easimap, in-house GIS view and query tool, ArcGIS Pro, EAMaps (ArcGIS Enterprise) and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
  • Assist in managing access to geospatial resources and ensuring best practices for usability and reliability.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Experience of delivering Enterprise Geospatial Services.
  • Evidence of ability to set a strategic direction and coordinate tactical delivery.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of customers and partners.
  • Experience of working with ESRI products.

Other Information

  • There are no base location requirements; the role can be fulfilled via remote working.
  • All staff are required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when needed; an incident role is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency.
