Our client, a leading Trade Association based in Southwark, Central London, is seeking a Head of Membership Engagement to join their team.

If you have experience as Head of Membership with a background in engaging members within organizations such as Trade Associations, Professional Bodies, Membership Organizations, Not-for-Profits, Charities, or sectors like Engineering, Construction, Property, Real Estate, Housing, Surveying, Planning, or the Public Sector, we would love to hear from you.

The Role of Head of Membership Engagement

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will develop and implement strategies for membership engagement, recruitment, and retention to ensure the organization:

• Delivers excellent support to members
• Retains current members
• Increases recruitment of new members

Key Responsibilities

• Review and enhance current membership engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies
• Build relationships with members at a senior level
• Identify and target prospective members across the UK
• Develop and execute a membership growth plan
• Engage with existing and potential members at CEO/Executive level
• Communicate benefits of membership effectively
• Manage membership applications, renewals, and fee structures
• Coordinate meetings and events, including minute-taking and action follow-ups
• Promote member activities through various channels
• Design and implement annual membership surveys
• Improve administrative processes related to membership

Person Specification – Knowledge and Experience

• Proven track record in growing membership and managing membership services
• Experience with administrative process improvements
• Strategic planning and business development skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at senior levels
• Experience managing CRM databases
• Willingness to travel across England and Wales for events and meetings
