HR Operations Manager
4 Days Old
Overview
Reporting to: Chief People & Culture Officer; Direct Reports: 1–2 HR colleagues; Location: Cardiff (min 1 day per week), with regular travel to offices across South Wales and Gloucestershire; Type: Full Time, Permanent Role.
We’re looking for a people-focused HR Operations Manager to join our values-led, high-impact team. You’ll lead smooth, efficient HR operations, support employee relations, and shape policies that put the colleague experience first.
This is a strategic yet hands-on role, embedding our values, driving engagement and wellbeing, and ensuring people processes are clear, fair, and kind. You’ll oversee compliance with employment law and SRA standards, guide a small team, and sit on the Compliance Board to help manage key risks.
Since 1898, Redkite Solicitors has proudly served individuals, families, and businesses, blending deep-rooted tradition with a forward-thinking approach. Guided by our values of integrity, approachability, and exceptional service, we’re committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of those we represent. If you’re ready to grow your legal career while making a tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Lead HR operations – oversee smooth delivery of core services, line-manage a small team, and guide complex employee relations with fairness and compliance.
- Shape people policies – create clear, people-centred policies and processes that reflect our values while ensuring compliance with employment law and SRA standards.
- Use data for impact – analyse HR data to spot trends, risks, and opportunities, turning insight into actions that shape strategy and decision-making.
- Drive culture and engagement – champion our values, lead wellbeing and engagement initiatives, and embed inclusive practices across all offices.
- Support learning and growth – deliver impactful training on key people topics and partner with stakeholders to build capability across the firm.
- Be a trusted partner – build strong relationships with leaders, influence decisions with insight, and sit on the Compliance Board to address people-related risks.
Qualifications
You’ll be an experienced HR professional who thrives on making things better for people and the business. With a strong grounding in employment law and best practice, you’ll bring both credibility and curiosity to the role.
- A senior HR generalist, ideally from legal or professional services, confident handling complex ER and mentoring team members.
- Someone who doesn’t just report on data, but digs into it – spotting trends, turning insight into action, and shaping strategy
- Analytical and solutions-focused, able to turn complex data into clear, people-first recommendations.
- Passionate about creating an exceptional colleague experience and driving continuous improvement.
- An excellent communicator and influencer who can build strong, trusted relationships at every level.
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to use HR systems to simplify and streamline processes
- Above all, values-driven – leading with kindness, empathy and a commitment to making Redkite a great place to work.
What is in it for you?
We’re committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing legal team. You’ll be joining colleagues who are not only legally excellent but also commercially astute and down-to-earth. We value trust, boldness, excellence and teamwork — and we want you to thrive as part of that.
- 25 days annual leave entitlement
- Holiday buy and sell scheme
- Contributions to gym membership
- Flexible working considerations
