Overview

Payroll Specialist – Dalkia UK (12 months fixed-term contract, Hybrid – Glasgow)

Based in Rutherglen/Glasgow with hybrid working. Full-time role on a 36.5 hour week, reporting to the Payroll Supervisor within the Payroll & Reward Team. The role sits within Central Functions, supporting HR, Finance, and external providers to deliver a seamless payroll experience across the Group.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll transactions accurately and on time.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries via the helpdesk, escalating when needed.
  • Prepare and input payroll data in line with statutory and company requirements.
  • Coordinate with outsourced payroll providers and internal teams.
  • Manage timesheets, pay rates, expenses, and welfare benefits across employee types.
  • Ensure correct allocation of employee costs to contracts and functions.
  • Support payroll reconciliations, BACs transmissions, and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with UK payroll legislation and employment contracts.
  • Assist with Tax Year End activities (P60s, P11Ds).
  • Contribute to payroll system testing and process improvements.

What We’re Looking For – Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll role (e.g., Payroll Administrator or Specialist).
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation (tax, pensions, statutory payments).
  • Experience with weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with payroll systems.
  • Experience in shared services or engineering environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Working Rule Agreements desirable.
