Role: Payroll Specialist
Step into a rewarding role where your expertise will help ensure our 4,600 Practice and Support Office colleagues across the UK and ROI are paid accurately and on time. You will be a trusted partner to our Payroll Manager, contributing to a smooth, compliant payroll experience while supporting the rollout of our new managed service provider. You will answer colleague queries with care and collaborate with our People Services team and payroll bureaus, bringing strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Location & model: Remote or hybrid working model (split between home and our Cheltenham support office). Likely 1 or 2 days per week in the office with flexibility around days. Office facilities include an on-site café, free parking and parkland surroundings.
Salary & benefits: Competitive salary with a benefits package (pro-rata). Benefits include bonus scheme, 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and special days off, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, life assurance, contributory pension, and health and wellbeing benefits (including annual dental check-up and hygienist, confidential helpline and counselling, and 24/7 GP service).
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for a multi-site, multi-location workforce.
- Act as a trusted partner to the Payroll Manager and collaborate with the People Services team and payroll bureaus.
- Address colleague payroll queries with care and maintain compliance with payroll legislation and best practices.
- Support the rollout of the new managed service provider and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in payroll data.
- Experience in a dedicated payroll role, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Advanced Excel skills for manipulating and interpreting complex data sets.
- Solid understanding of payroll processes, legislation, and best practices; ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Experience managing payroll across a diverse, multi-location workforce.
- CIPP Level 3 qualification (or working towards).
