About this role: This position will report directly to OpenTable’s Senior Manager, Global Payroll. The Specialist, Payroll will foster a culture of excellence, elevate OpenTable’s Payroll function, build and develop future-proof processes, and proactively guide the business to operate successfully in a increasingly complex payroll environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure payroll is paid in a timely and accurate manner for multiple countries and frequencies.
  • Directly support (or provide backup for) payroll processing operations for countries including the United States, Mexico, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, India, Germany, France, Ireland, Lithuania, Switzerland, Singapore.
  • Calculate and report tax liabilities, perform periodic, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc balancing, and validate payroll tax reporting and related activities, including the annual issuance of year-end forms.
  • Ensure full compliance with payroll-related matters and reporting requirements (e.g., payroll taxes, fringe benefits, stock-based compensation, global mobility, annual filings); collaborate with HR, Accounting, Finance Operations, Tax and Legal to address the full scope.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll-related queries and issues (vendor, compliance, reporting/accounting, etc.).
  • Work with HR Operations to ensure smooth payroll data integrations, resolve reporting issues, and suggest enhancements and solutions.
  • Support projects, process improvements, and payroll audits.
  • Manage payroll service provider relationships.
  • Assist in devising payroll SOPs and calendars to document key processes and meet deadlines.

Qualifications and experience we are seeking:

  • Demonstrable interest and knowledge of payroll and related HR/Payroll and Accounting systems; Cloudpay, Netsuite, ADP Workforce and Workday are preferred.
  • Professional payroll qualification (CPP or equivalent) and/or professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience with payroll in any of the following countries: United States, Mexico, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, India, Germany, France, Ireland, Lithuania, Switzerland, and Singapore.
  • 3+ years of experience in professional practice or in-house roles; proven ability to process payroll accurately and timely and meet compliance requirements.
