Our Private Client department is at the heart of what we do, guiding generations of local families through wills, probate, trusts, LPAs and Court of Protection matters.

The Role

We’re looking for a personable and motivated Private Client Solicitor (2–6 years PQE) to join our Bury office. The role offers genuine scope for progression into a senior or partnership‑track position as the department continues to expand.

Responsibilities

  • Estate administration and probate (including taxable estates)
  • Drafting wills and trusts (including discretionary, life interest and pilot trusts)
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney and deputyship applications
  • Court of Protection and general lifetime planning
  • Advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries on related issues

You’ll be supported by an experienced team, modern systems (Proclaim CMS, paper‑light working, Teams calls), and an open culture that values initiative and professional development.

About You

  • 2–6 years PQE (Solicitor or CILEX) with a background in wills, probate and trusts
  • Strong technical skills and confident client manner
  • Able to work independently while collaborating as part of a wider team
  • STEP qualification or interest in completing it is advantageous
