Overview
Product Designer role at Pod, a leading UK EV charging provider.
Location: London. Compensation: £60,000 - £70,000 per year.
We’re Pod – one of the UK’s leading EV charging providers, trusted by over 250,000 customers and powering more than 5 million miles every day. We’re part of the EDF Family and are focused on shaping a smarter, more sustainable energy future.
About Pod
We started in 2009 as Pod Point, helping people switch to electric as EVs began to grow. Today we’re leading the way into a smarter energy future. Our focus is on powering homes, vehicles, and local communities while balancing the grid and making clean energy accessible to everyone. We’re proud to work with brands like Mercedes, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, Kia; home builders Barratt and Bellway; and retailers including Tesco. Pod is the next evolution of Pod Point, helping build a brighter future for society by managing energy flow and making it affordable and accessible.
Ways of Working
We value flexibility, community, and work-life balance. Our hybrid model combines home and office work. You can expect to work from our London office between 8-12 days per month. The successful applicant should be reasonably commutable to our Gray’s Inn Road office (London, WC1X 8HB).
Role description
As a Product Designer at Pod, you’ll craft seamless digital experiences across our products and platforms. You’ll work in a cross-functional team with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to bring our brand and values to life.
You’ll also be responsible for:
- Designing end-to-end product experiences across mobile apps (primary focus), web tools, website, and internal platforms.
- Leading interaction and motion design, creating animations and micro-interactions that enhance usability.
- Championing accessibility and inclusive design, embedding best practices into every design.
- Owning and evolving our design language—building on brand guidelines and growing our design system for consistency, scalability, and accessibility.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape solutions from discovery through delivery.
- Creating developer-ready Figma files that are slick, organized, and system-aware.
- Using Miro to facilitate workshops, map research insights, and co-create solutions.
- Planning and running user research and usability testing to validate ideas and refine product experiences.
- Using data, insights, and feedback to guide design decisions and improve product performance.
