Overview

2026 Graduate Programme - Building Specialists - Fire, Energy Solutions & Facades at WSP. We are recruiting Graduates for Building Specialists teams with opportunities in Fire Engineering, Digital Services, Façade Engineering and Energy Solutions across London, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Leeds. The programme is designed to support personal and professional development through a two-year Graduate Development Programme with mentoring and professional registration support.

Responsibilities

  • Join multidisciplinary teams and contribute to exciting and innovative projects within Building Specialists.
  • Support the delivery of fire engineering, façade engineering, energy solutions or digital services projects depending on chosen discipline.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, design notes and drawings; participate in design team meetings and site visits.
  • Develop and apply specialist knowledge to solve client problems and implement latest techniques for best-in-class service.
  • Contribute to BIM/Digital workflows, modelling reviews and coordination across disciplines as part of the Digital Services stream.
  • Attend client and project meetings, collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEP/IT teams, and other stakeholders.

Discipline-specific notes

  • Fire Engineering: develop fire strategy documents, ensure compliance with Part B of Building Regulations, produce fire strategy reports, and support design teams with fire protection systems.
  • Digital Services: lead BIM/Digital advisory activities, manage digital strategies, ensure ISO19650 standards, coordinate BIM models, and support bids with digital expertise.
  • Façade Engineering: assist in thermal modelling, building physics, design deliverables, site inspections, and coordination with other disciplines; develop skills in software such as Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, and related tools.
  • Energy Solutions: engage in heat network evaluation, modelling, construction supervision, and supporting project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
  • Interest in Building Specialists services, building systems, digital engineering and BIM, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and in multidisciplinary teams; strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Flexible to start in April or September 2026.
