Overview

Cyber Security Trainee Placement Programme offers accredited training and practical experience to help you start a career in IT and Cybersecurity. The programme is designed for graduates, career changers or job seekers with no prior experience. A job guarantee (or full refund of course fees under terms) is offered upon completion, with support to gain an IT or cybersecurity role in the UK.

Programme outline

1. Step 1 – Accredited Online Training: Complete professional, accredited CompTIA courses delivered online with multimedia video tutorials, practice labs, presentations and quizzes. You will be assigned an expert tutor and support mentor to assist you during training.
2. Step 2 – Practical Training: Gain hands-on experience through practice labs to master what you have learned and build confidence for an IT role.
3. Step 3 – Official exams: Sit the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ exams to obtain official certifications recognised in the UK and worldwide. The Network+ provides a foundation in networking.
4. Step 4 – IT Technician placement (£24K–£35K): Secure your first role as an IT Technician with a starting salary in the stated range. Two years of experience is typically needed before advancing to cybersecurity roles. The programme includes further training to qualify for cybersecurity roles (including CompTIA Security+) and may include additional courses such as Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Network Defender based on individual goals.

Cybersecurity role progression follows after completing mandatory training and gaining sufficient IT experience. The recruitment support team specializes in IT and cybersecurity roles, with salaries averaging around £35K at higher levels.

Financing and eligibility

Students can begin training with a deposit (around £190) and finance the remaining balance over 12 months on an interest-free basis. Many students finish the courses and secure a placement within the terms of the finance agreement.
