Step 1 to Step 4 below outline how the programme works to help you move from training to placement.

Steps to placement

1. Step 1 - Accredited Online Training: Completing professional, accredited and industry-recognised courses from CompTIA. Training is delivered via multimedia video tutorials, practice labs, presentations and quizzes through a study portal. You will be assigned an expert tutor and a support mentor to help you throughout your training.

2. Step 2 - Practical Training: You will gain practical hands-on experience through practice labs to master what you have learned, giving you confidence for your first IT role.

3. Step 3 - Official exams: You will sit the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ exams to obtain official certifications recognised in the UK and worldwide. The Network+ provides a foundation in networking.

4. Step 4 - IT Technician placement (£24-£35K): We work with you to secure your first role as an IT Technician, with a starting salary between £24K-£35K. After gaining two years’ experience, you can progress into the cybersecurity field with further accredited training (including options like CompTIA Security+, and possibly Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Network Defender depending on requirements).

Cybersecurity Role: After completing all mandatory training in step four and gaining two plus years of IT experience, you will be ready to move into higher-paying Cybersecurity roles. Our recruitment support team specialises in IT and Cybersecurity roles, with an average starting salary of £35K.
