Role and responsibilities

  • Be one of two technical leads for the GIS team, supporting the GIS Manager and Senior Team Leader.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Environment Agency, DEFRA and external partners to evolve Geospatial Services.
  • Coordinate delivery with service leads and ensure a joined-up, modern suite of corporate geospatial services for users.
  • Work with our service delivery partners to modernise and improve geospatial capabilities across the organisation.

Team and tools

The National GIS Team provides Geospatial services and leads their use in the EA. Tools include Easimap, our in-house GIS view and query tool, ArcGIS Pro and EAMaps (ArcGIS Enterprise). We also manage and support access to ArcGIS Online (AGOL).

Experience and skills required

  • Experience of delivering Enterprise Geospatial Services
  • Evidence of the ability to set a strategic direction and coordinate tactical delivery
  • Ability to work with a wide range of customers and partners
  • Experience of working with ESRI products
